Objectives  
This lesson encourages using the Internet as a resource for learning in order to highlight the importance of intellectual property rights.

1) WebQuest (P.4 - S.7)

Approximate time needed: 80 minutes

Procedures:

1Students are divided into groups working on a WebQuest assignment set by the teacher. WebQuest ideas are available from http://projects.edtech.sandi.net/staffdev/buildingblocks/p-index.htm. The teacher may offer a sample WebQuest on learning more about IPR.20
2The teacher provides a template and develops a WebQuest.40
3The teacher highlights the need to acknowledge the author and the source of the information. During the lesson each group will present their completed WebQuest to the class. Teachers should pay close attention to the reference materials used in the students' WebQuest to see if they have violated IPR.20
