When we are thinking about the psychological aspects of cyber ethics, the first thing that comes into our mind would probably be the term "Internet Addiction". There are many scholars all over the world doing researches in this area. In Hong Kong, the psychologists did not find strong evidence to prove the existence of "Internet Addiction". But we do encounter some phenomena that people are overusing the Internet. For some who cannot cope with the ups and downs in the virtual world, they may even act tragically, as we all know from the newspaper. To have more in-depth understanding of the psychological aspects of internet overuse, experts from the Division of Clinical Psychology, and Dr. Chau of the Hong Kong Psychological Society would like to share their precious experiences and advice with us in the Expert Advice section.

Dr. Albert Chau, Associate Professor from the Department of Psychology of The University of Hong Kong, would like to share his findings and experience in investigating on the overusing phenomenon.
