  6. Has had his/her computer infected by viruses?
  7. Shares computer files with strangers online?

  10. Often downloads mp3s and video files?
  11. Has lost his/her work because of computer crashes?
  12. Often crashes the computer?

  2. Adopt appropriate attitudes: encourage mutual trust and communication

  4. Give age-appropriate freedom, rules, and a sense of responsibility
  5. Develop your child's emotional control abilities at a young age
    • Be aware of your own emotions and those of others
    • Exercise control over your emotions
    • Know how to control your own behaviour
  6. Foster his/her self-confidence
  7. When your child uses the computer in ways you don't like
    (a) keep calm;
    (b) listen to his/her reasons;
    (c) communicate your views, feelings, and worries; and
    (d) let your child suggest ways of improving the situation.
