Violation of Intellectual Property Rights: Pirate Copies

The owner of a cyber cafe has been accused of breaking Intellectual Property Laws, by installing pirated software developed by a computer game development company. More than 100 computers in the cafe were found to have been running pirated version of two electronic games. The company has taken the cyber cafe to a Hong Kong district court and are demanding compensation for loss of revenue for running the unlicensed versions of their games.
